What are allergic eye conditions?
Allergic conjunctivitis is an allergic reaction to environmental allergens. Common symptoms can include eye itching, burning, tearing, redness, and swelling. Allergic triggers and testing for allergic conjunctivitis are the same as for allergic rhinitis. Some patients with allergic conjunctivitis may benefit from sublingual immunotherapy/allergy tablets or subcutaneous immunotherapy/allergy injections .
Allergic eye conditions unrelated to environmental allergens can also occur. Your allergist will recommend a treatment plan based on your eye condition.
